Accounting Intern

Our company is seeking an Accounting Intern to support the Accounting Department initiative of providing seamless service. Applicant must be knowledgeable of a variety of basic Accounting functions. The Accounting Intern must be extremely conscientious; an effective communicator; and be comfortable working independently, but also have the ability to work in a team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reconcile Bank Accounts
Record general ledger entries
Cash receipts recording
Coding of Accounts Payable invoices
Prepare invoices (both external and inter-company)
Process owner statements
Financial report analysis
Administrative functions
Special projects as needed
Minimal Requirements:
2nd -3rd year Finance or Accounting Major
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with a working knowledge of all other Microsoft Suite programs
Ability to manage and organize, multiple tasks and prioritize work
Excellent communication skills to interface with company employees, vendors, and customers

Applicant must be comfortable working with a variety of customers, both internal and external. The ideal applicant will be flexible and susceptible to change in an ever evolving environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
